Care & Maintenance for Umbrella Fabrics

Built for the Outdoors

Our umbrellas use 100% solution-dyed acrylic canopies — the industry standard for fade resistance, UV protection, and all-weather performance. With simple care, the fabric will retain its color and strength season after season, even in demanding commercial settings.

Routine Care

  • Brush off debris regularly to prevent dirt from embedding in the weave.
  • Rinse with clean water after heavy rain, salt air exposure, or near trees that drop pollen/sap.
  • Close umbrellas when not in use to reduce unnecessary sun exposure and keep them clean longer.

Cleaning the Canopy

  1. Mix ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water.
  2. Apply solution with a soft brush or cloth, gently working into the fabric.
  3. Rinse thoroughly until no soap remains — leftover soap can attract dirt.
  4. Air dry completely before closing or storing.

Stubborn Stains & Mildew

  • For mildew, tree sap, or stains, use 1 cup bleach + ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of water.
  • Apply to the affected area, let sit 15 minutes, scrub lightly, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Air dry fully before folding the umbrella.

Seasonal Storage

  • Always allow the canopy to dry completely before storing to prevent mildew.
  • Store in a clean, dry location with good ventilation.
  • For added protection, use a storage cover during the off-season or when umbrellas are closed for long periods.
